This story is about six fairies on this wiki, and their journey through Alfea. The stars of the journey are Dalia, Summer, Liona, Aliana, Katherine Peters, and Samantha. From Book 3 to 4, however, Dalia develops a tropical illness and is replaced with Ariel Johnson. She rejoins the group, cured of her illness, in Book 5.

Without Wings is also the name of the group of girls, after Book 1. The members are as follows.
- Katherine Peters: The often-disputed and somewhat spacey leader of the group, she is the daughter of Bloom and Sky. Her powers revolve around fire, although she is not a bearer of the Dragon Fire.
- Samantha: Katherine's best friend and the daughter of Stella and Brandon, she is the future ruler of Solaria and sister of Andro. Sam's powers are sunlight based.
- Dalia: Dalia is the sweet, gentle daughter of Flora and Helia. She loves gardening and plants, and looks out for everyone in the group. As with her mother, her powers are plant based, although Dalia's tend more towards attacks.
- Summer: A sunshiney, happy-go-lucky blonde with power of the seasons, she hails from the realm of Seasonia. She loves to read, and takes a book with her wherever she goes. Her favorite season to control is summer and the hot, sunny weather.
- Liona: The quiet artist of the girls, she is rarely found without her sketchpad, and delights in sitting in a secluded spot with her pixie and pet drawing. Her quiet nature belies her prowess on the battlefield, where she harnesses the power of energy and lightning.
- Aliana Torvald: Ali is the group's resident cutup, and usually makes her jokes at the expense of Katherine and Dalia. She is also the main girl to dispute Katherine's leader status, due to Katherine's tendency towards spaciness during critical situations. Ali controls ice and cold, in the form of deadly sharp crystals.
